Most Liveable Cities For 2019 (The Economist’s Top 10)


Last year, Vienna (Austria) was ranked as the #1 most liveable city, with Melbourne (Australia) a close runner up. As it happens, history has repeated itself for this year’s results; with Vienna once again taking the top spot and Melbourne falling short by 0.7 of a percentage point.


Melbourne ranked similarly to Vienna with almost perfect scores in many categories such as infrastructure, stability, education, healthcare, culture and environment.


Other Australian cities did well too with Brisbane (#18), Perth (#14), and Auckland (#12) making the top 20.
