Six Books I Wish I Read When I Was 18!

Books are amazing resources because they hold all the knowledge an individual has collected over his/her lifetime and allows you to access that information in a format that can be read in a few months, weeks or days! Decades of experience packaged up neatly for you, the reader, to enjoy and learn from.

I have a collection of books at home and on Audible, but out of the hundreds of books that I have read, these are the top 6 that I would send back in time to my younger self.

In no particular order:

Principles - Ray Dalio

A roadmap for life, business, finances and mindset. This book shares intimate details about Ray Dalio’s life, thought process and what makes him one of the most successful investors and entrepreneurs in the world.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck – Mark Manson

A guide to dealing with life, when things get F*cked up! This book is all about how to handle life’s inevitable disappointments and painful moments and keep moving forward no matter what.

Fearless – Eric Blehm

Written about an elite member of the U.S. Navy SEAL team, this book tells the life story of Adam Brown. A heroic man whose courage and determination was motivated by family, faith and his true love.

12 Rules For Life – Jordan B Peterson

Mastering the Market Cycle – Howard Marks

This book will help you to understand the past cycles of the market so you can be alert for the next one. When investing, its important to not only be knowledgeable, but also in control of emotions like fear and greed; this book will give you the confidence you need no matter what cycle you are in.

Stealing Fire – Steven Kotler & Jamie Wheal

A shortcut to working/performing at your peak! Everything you have heard about high performance – 10,000 hours, better habits and grit, etc, is not really necessary if you harness this method of action. This book will force you to rethink how to lead a richer, more productive and more satisfying life.
